Project: create a simple animated Photoshop gif using the timeline function in Photoshop

Overview & Brainstorming

• scan the tutorials so you get a sense of how the process works and how complex you would like to go given the timeline (short timeline!)
• subject matter should be a character that is a self portrait (ok to add additional characters, animals and objects)
• on blank paper, brainstorm 3 or more ideas, also look for inspiraton sources and write some notes and draw some thumbnails that consider character style, color, movement, etc.

• ai file with frame layouts

• psd file with frames

• final gif file to be posted on the class insta account

Extra Time/ Curious learner

• Explore other software that animations can be made in such as the fairly new “Adobe Animate” and After Effects. Experiment with other drawing or photographic styles as your base imagery
