A2 Typographic Postcard

Project: submit a typography dominated postcard design to the OAEA contest shown below
Due Date:  Feb 17th (hard deadline!)
Grading Parameters: LT 2 & 4

Unconventional Type

We’ll continue to use type as a solution for our designs on this project. Use at least 2 of Jim Krause’s type tips to push they way you would normally use type.

Choose from:

  • split

  • tilt

  • varied bseline

  • varied orientation

  • border

  • cropped

  • doodled

  • embellish

  • graphic

  • link

  • mixed fonts

Getting Started

  1. Set up two 4x6 artboards

  2. Use the text typed out for you in the templates folder

  3. Play & Plan in Illustrator (review the design requirements above)

  4. Design & Plan Consider many of the compositional tools you know such as color emphasis, balance, size and weight variation, etc.

  5. Turn In your A2lastname.ai file into our period turn in folder on the classes drive

  6. Submit one of your designs as a jpg to the OAEA email listed to the left by Feb. 17 COPY Ms. Mary on the email (tassonema@beaverton.k12.or.us)
